While working for a fully accredited acute care hospital as a financial analyst, responsibilities involved designing management specific expense detail and income statement reports utilizing Oracle’s report writer as well as MS Excel’s utility functions. Also, the implementation of new systems like Oracle General Ledger and PeopleSoft General Ledger was also performed. Other duties included accruing operating expenses during the month end process using MS Excel V- lookups and Pivot tables.

Extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid reimbursement, healthcare finance, accounting, budgets, healthcare delivery system and healthcare data analysis was used.
Tasks involved overseeing the hospital’s accounting, health information management, admitting, patient accounts and purchasing departments which included approximately 70 direct/indirect reports. Coordinating the hospital’s annual financial/reimbursement audits, preparing the annual operating/capital budgets, as well as presenting financial results on a monthly basis were skills brought to the table.

Our regional medical center was upgrading or Meditech EMR version and our Project Manager who initiated the project announced he was leaving mid-project.
