Thor creates a plan for realignment to promote significant cost savings to home products manufacturer 

Two years ago, a home products manufacturer implemented the J.D. Edwards World A7.3 ERP software. Significant modifications were made to the J.D. Edwards system to meet their specific business processes and requirements.

Due to the modifications, extensive documentation was created. This documentation was so extensive that the end users and new hires did not even use it. This resulted in inconsistent use of the J.D. Edwards software throughout various divisions of the company decreasing overall quality and accuracy.

The manufacturing company was in need of a J.D. Edwards consultant with not only knowledge of the J.D. Edwards Order Entry application, but someone that could create concise documentation for a user manual. In addition, the J.D. Edwards consultant also needed to provide classroom training for the existing Order Entry staff to ensure consistent use of the application. This would typically require two to three different consultants with expertise in each area (analysis, documentation, and training). Using our in-depth consultative approach to identify business challenges and recommend matching business solutions, Thor found one professional who could do much of this new project while creating a plan to realign internal staff to continue to do standard day to day processes. The company saved $110,000 in a five month period by hiring one person instead of three.

Thor was able to provide one JDE consultant to handle of their requirements. This saved our client numerous hours in recruiting and in training multiple people on their system and business processes. The client was more than satisfied with the solution Thor provided and is now using Thor to develop other applications within the J.D. Edwards Financial module.
